Property/Patriarchy is a group exhibition featuring members of chant cooperative, exploring how systems shape our understanding of ownership, belonging, and collective care. Through sculpture, installation, photography, painting, and drawing, the exhibition reimagines what it means to have value — materially, emotionally, and socially — within a community.
The artists also seek to invite reflection on how land, labor, and identity are historically gendered and commodified, and how reclaiming shared spaces can challenge hierarchies of power. By bringing together a group of artists that is inherently community-focused, the exhibition positions art as a tool for imagining new forms of community beyond ownership.
